Almost Real -
          International Working Conference
          Utrecht (Netherlands), 12th-14th
          March 2004
From March 11th to 14th 2004, Love Difference presented
its activities, once again opening its borders beyond the Mediterranean,
to participate in the international working conference Almost
Real, organized by the European Cultural Foundation, held in
the Centraal Museum of Utrecht. Almost Real is an "operative international
conference to explore new and innovative ideas in the sphere of artistic
strategies - in a rapidly changing Europe".
The scheduled events involved artists, researchers, politicians, cultural
theoreticians, activists and students; international guests like Okwui
Enwezor, artistic director of Documenta 11, Dragan Klaic, president
of the European Forum for the Arts and Heritage and Remi Parmentier,
political director of Greenpeace, discussed the role of art in social
transformation from different points of view, focusing on two main topics:
          "Participatory Media" and "Rural
Interventions" (Cultural interventions in European rural
          areas).
