Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto and luca sossella editore present the book curated by Massimo Melotti. On Thursday, May 5th, at the Caffè letterario Vergnano, Salone del Libro, Turin.
“ ‘Symbol’- Lotman writes - is one of the most polysemic words within the Semiotics Science; that’s why It’s very hard to make a classification of it, and a good definition as well”.
During the convention “The symbol value at the beginning of the millennium” (Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, 2000) Massimo Melotti, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Michel Maffesoli, Walter Santagata, Ugo Volli, Bruno Corà, Sergio Boidi, Paola Bacchi have reflected about the way in which the potentialities of the symbol are definining and relate to eachother in the today cultural context.
Massimo Melotti (art critic and professionist in communication and Cultural management) and Michelangelo Pistoletto are presenting the reflections grown from that convention, which have been collected and integrated in the book “Sul Simbolo”, edited in 2004 by Luca Sossella Editore in collaboration with Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto’s Publisher. The presentation will take place on Thursday, May 5th, at 11.00 a.m., in the Caffè letterario Vergnano of the Salone del Libro, Turin.
