Divided screens in Europe: the art of cinema in the Balkans during the Cold War. Rovereto, June-December 2009
On the occasion of the exhibition “Cold War. Art and design in a divided world 1945-1970 “, open at the Museo d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Trento and Rovereto (Italy) until July 26, Osservatorio Balcani and Nuovo Cineforum in collaboration with MART-Rovereto presented the book "The art of cinema in the Balkans", and the workshop "The Conquest of European imagination".
The meeting, directed by Osservatorio Balcani and Nuovo Cineforum Rovereto was the first conference of the series "Divided screens in Europe", presenting between June and December 2009 a number of events on the art of cinema in South-East Europe and the Caucasus by from the “regimes era” until the “post-1989” era. The initiative has been supported by the Autonomous Province of Trento and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto.
