Founded in Milan the Mediterranean Association for Medicine Cooperation, to deliver hospital treatment at home. Main aims of the Mediterranean Association for Medicine Cooperation (Amcm) are the support of home hospital treatment in the Mediterranean area and the starting of master courses to facilitate exchanges between practitioners throughout the area. The association counts now a thousand of members. Amcm supports health service projects, training and researching programs, the social spreading of medicine and surgery, scientific congresses and debates on the subject. In January 2005 the first program of home medical assistance will start in Spain, Italy, Israel, France and Tunisia. It will be a practice of hospital treatment for the healing of such pathologies as pneumonia, bronchitis, and mental diseases, which can be treated at home, saving one third of the expenses. Another starting project is the setting up of courses of ‘local cultures’ intended for health operators going abroad (a similar course of ‘war medicine’ has been already realised). At the present, there are 31 Countries directly involved in projects by Amcm.
