        | Unrecognized by Tal Adler in Jerusalem:
at Barbur Gallery until the 3rd of February Unrecognized, the artistic project by Tal
Adler will be at the centre of an exhibition and a series of events
            at Barbur Gallery in Jerusalem.
The Unrecognized project, developed by Tal in collaboration with Love
Difference, was born in 2003 when Bedouin fields in the Negev (Israel)
had been sprayed with a toxic substance from the air, in a State-sponsored
act. Tal Adler, photographer, artist, teacher and social-political
activist, started to look into the matter and came face to face with
the issue of the unrecognized villages and their inhabitants. Aware
of the importance of public opinion in political processes, Tal Adler
decided to start this project to trigger a social change. Trought
a clever use of artistic media, educational and social tools, Unrecognized
brings the story of the unrecognized Bedouin settlements to the attention
of wider audiences forcing the political stakeholders to face the
problem of unrecognised settlements and the issues it raises. Events
in Jerusalem along the exhibition: screening of the film "The
Film Class", by Rosenwaks Uri, 2006; meeting and workshop for
Arab and Jewish women from different empowerment projects in the Negev
and Jerusalem; the conferences “Why Unrecognized? An introduction
to the story of the Bedouin in the Negev”; “Alsira, unrecognized
            village - A story of a small village and many evacuation notices”;
“What can be done? The organizations who work in the Negev",
participating village council's representatives, researchers, members
            from NGOs.
The exhibition will be open until the 3rd of February. go
