Nurope in Biella: the European Nomadic University for Art, Philosophy and Enterprise from the 9th to the 12th of February at Cittadellarte. Deadline for applications: 17th January 2007
Nurope, the Nomadic University for Art, Philosophy and Enterprise in Europe is an initiative born from the collaboration among the European Cultural Parliament based in Berlin, the Abo Akademi University of Turku (Finland) and the Pistoletto Foundation. In September 2006 the first “oasis” has been held in Turku, a session of meetings and visits focused on the relation between culture and local development. The second Nurope's oasis on the theme “Art for the responsible social transformation”, will be held from the 9th to the 12th of February 2007 at Cittadellarte in Biella: four intense days of events, workshops and study trips. International experts will show interdisciplinary methodologies as models of the concept of “Art at the center of social responsible transformation”. Among the speakers, Bengt Kristensson Uggla, Amos Anderson Professor of Philosophy, Culture and Management at Åbo Akademi University (Finland), Pierre Guillet de Monthoux , Professor and Chair of General Management at Stockholm University School of Business (Sweden), and Michelangelo Pistoletto, artist and artistic director of Cittadellarte.
Workshops are intended to stimulate a constructive dialogue on the relation between enterprise and local development through the presentation and the analysis of creative projects, where art is a means for transforming the social context. The session is open to 60 reaserchers and students, who can also submit a paper. Deadline for registration: January 17; deadline for paper submissions: January 15.
