The “Cookbook” by Antwerp University’s Art on the Campus, Cittadellarte and Love Difference: Antwerp, 13 November 2008
Under the artistic direction of Michelangelo Pistoletto, Cittadellarte designed the “Love Difference - 6 Mediterraneans” ceiling sculpture in the new “Meerminne” building of the Political and Social Sciences Department of the University of Antwerp. The ceiling of the building’s main entrance hall has been adorned with maps depicting the outlines of the six “Mediterranean” or landlocked seas. The “Love Difference” motto has been translated into all the languages of the countries bordering these seas and written onto the fringes of the ceiling.
Going on with the promotion of intercultural dialogue also through food, started with the Love Difference Pastries project, Cittadellarte and Love Difference, in cooperation with Art on the Campus and UA-Catering, published a cookbook including simple recipes (and a few fusion recipes) from these countries, compiled by students and personnel of the university.
To this end, an appeal for original recipes was issued to all students and staff members. Several recipes from countries bordering the world’s landlocked seas were selected for the Cookbook, which will be released during the “Week of Taste,” a multicultural culinary event promoted by the Flemish Government (13-23 November).
The cookbook will be presented on Thursday, 13 November 2008 at 16.00 hrs in the Rector Dhanis hall at Antwerp University’s City Campus.
