WHAT IS LOVE DIFFERENCE?
Love Difference is a network of institutions, artists, individuals and creative
people that aim at making different cultures meet. The network is a starting
point to share experiences and knowledge from people in different disciplines.
The members share the conviction that creativity can, through the promotion
of artistic projects, have a social impact and they would like to participate,
at least in part, in society’s transformation and interact in a positive
way through experiencing different cultures in order to face the problems
that our era presents.
WHAT ARE ITS VALUES?
What motivates Love Difference is above all a feeling of laic spirituality,
a profound love, not tied to any specific religion, for humankind and the
world. These shared values place humans at the centre of the universe where
we aim at replacing the logic of aggression with that of meeting and understanding.
Multiculturality is the key to imagine a different and better tomorrow which
allows us to believe that social transformation is possible.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Everyone can participate. Everyone who is willed to invest energy in the
values we believe in can join us, support our movement and collaborate with
Love Difference. Or they can propose ideas and projects. Our movement purposefully
leaves the door open to everyone- institutions, artists, creative people
and individuals - to build a network with widest interdisciplinary know-how
possible.
WHAT DOES LOVE DIFFERENCE REALLY DO?
Love Difference activities are very diversified. The heart of its activity
is choosing annually, among the many proposals, a given number of artistic
projects that aim at resolving existing social problems through creative
means and open space for reflection and research in multiculturality. Additionally,
Love Difference and its partners aim at creating a number of events, workshops,
exhibits, etc. within the organization to more fully involve normal citizens
and make them aware about the importance of meeting different cultures.
The organization’s activity is closely tied to the research stage,
through which we try to keep attention focused on the problems in the Mediterranean
area but not only there.
DOES LOVE DIFFERENCE ONLY WORK IN THE MEDITERRANEAN?
The Mediterranean is our starting point because it is close and meaningful.
Love Difference’s intention is to bring its message to areas beyond
the Mediterranean, even if we recognize that our area exemplifies many of
the problems that exist on a global scale.
HOW CAN YOU COLLABORATE WITH LOVE DIFFERENCE?
Just contact us. First of all people can join by becoming active
in our organization, helping us with various activities that we are sponsoring
or by offering their professions services for our projects. For those who
do not have the time or the possibility to actively participate it is still
possible to join our organization by supporting our projects and our activities
[join us].
Moreover, anyone who would like to present a project proposal can give us
the plan and we can evaluate the feasibility together. Projects are necessary
to activate as much transformation as is possible in our area.
We are working to open various Love Difference centers to create new active
points of the network.
