XIII Biennial of young artist from Europe and the Mediterranean to be held in Alexandria (Egypt). Deadline: 31st March/30th April 2007
The XIII Edition of the Biennial of young artist from Europe and the Mediterranean will be held in Alexandria (Egypt) from 25th November to 4th December 2007. This is the first time that this event will be held outside Europe, in the South of the Mediterranean: this is an important sign of real and concrete cooperation, where the intercultural dialogue is in the centre of everyone's commitment.
More than one thousand artists between 18 and 30 years old from 48 different Countries will get to Egypt; their works will be hosted in the city’s public spaces, which will become places for intercultural dialogue. Artistic Fields: visual arts, applied arts, images on the move, show, literature, music, gastronomy area.
The Biennial will be organized by the Bjcem, the Governatorate of Alexandria, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Alex Med Research Center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Atelier d'Alexandrie, under the patronage of the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures. A Public Call for Competitions will be launched in all countries taking part in the Biennial 2007. The selections of the participants will be realized by local and national juries of art critics and experts of the different areas. Deadlines between 31 March and 30 April: check your Country!
