Master in Cultural Projects for Development at the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin (Italy). Deadline for applications: May 31, 2006
For developing and developed countries, cultural creations, however expressed, will play an ever-increasing role as an instrument of development as well as a source of job creation. The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (Management of Development Programme) and the University of Torino, have agreed to pool their resources to develop this Master programme in Cultural Projects for Development. The course combines essential knowledge of cultural economics with the competences needed to design projects in the cultural field. In addition, case studies and study visits are built into the course content in order to familiarise the participants with the integrated process of development, promotion and marketing of cultural assets in Italy.
The Master's programme, conducted in English is in its fourth delivery following the conclusion of the third edition, successfully completed by nineteen participants from seventeen different countries. Members of the Scientific Board of the Course are the International Training Centre of the ILO, the University of Torino and the University Paris 1 - Sorbonne-Pantheon.The programme, to take place from 15 June 2006 to 15 March 2007 is intended for recent university graduates as well as officials and professionals from the public, private and non-profit sectors with a first university degree who present a viable cultural project idea. The tuition fee is Euro 5000. A limited number of scholarships is available to participants from developing and transitions countries. Application deadline is 31 May 2006.
