Zapatero goes on with reformation:
Spain says yes to gay marriage.The socialist government of Josè Luis Rodriguez Zapatero kept one of its electoral promises and started the legal process to legalise gay marriage. The articles of the law give to gay couples the same rights of heterosexual couples, including divorce, maintenance of partner and children, inheritance, adoption (only of Spanish children). The law is expected to come into force by 2005, after the Parliament’s approval. Spain will be the third country in Europe to legalise gay marriage after the Netherlands and Belgium, and the first in the Mediterranean area. www.reuters.co.uk

riforme: la Spagna dice sì alle unioni gay.Il governo socialista di Josè Luis Rodriguez Zapatero ha mantenuto una delle sue promesse elettorali e ha dato il via libera al disegno di legge con cui si rendono legali i matrimoni gay. Gli articoli del disegno di legge garantiscono alle coppie gay gli stessi diritti dei coniugi eterosessuali compreso il divorzio, gli alimenti, il mantenimento dei figli, l'eredità, la cittadinanza e l'adozione, ma solo di bambini spagnoli. La normativa dovrebbe entrare in vigore il prossimo anno, dopo il via libera del Parlamento. La Spagna sarà il terzo paese dell'Unione europea a legalizzare i matrimoni gay, dopo Olanda e Belgio e il primo nel area Mediterranea. www.repubblica.it |
