Sailing for peace. A meeting in Trieste featuring Gino Strada, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Giovanni Soldini
In occasion of the regatta Barcolana, with the participation of the minitransat "A sail for peace", the Emergency group of Trieste organised a public meeting for Saturday 8 October at 5 p.m. at the Miela Theatre. Gino Strada, surgeon and founder of Emergency, in Trieste for the first time, will speak about peace and human rights, talking about the experience of Emergency in the care of the civil victims of conflicts, and will illustrate the new plans of the association.
The meeting’ aim is to testify that art and sport can express and work for peace. At the event will participate Giovanni Soldini (skipper), Raul Pantaleo (Emergency member and skipper) responsible for the project "A sail for the peace, a sail for Emergency", and Michelangelo Pistoletto (artist and president of the association Love Difference, Artistic Movement for one Political InterMediterranea), partner of the 9 project. On Sunday, 9 October, the Emergency’s minitransat will run the Barcolana regatta with the following crew: Alberto Sonino(skipper), Tiziano Rossetti, Raul Pantaleo, Gino Strada.
