Project promoted by Love Difference
The project consists of two different phases:
one is the observation and collection of traditional costumes, fabrics, colors of tissue and accessories used and worn in the various countries around the Mediterranean. Special attention is paid to the costumes of fishermen and the dresses of the port-communities.
The collection of the costumes and pieces of cloth is part of a broad dialogue which aims at understanding local traditions and living-conditions.
The second step of the project is the realization of a fashion-collection, combining various fabrics selected and collected during the first phase of the project. The aim is to create pieces of clothing that can become in itself a multicultural representation. There is the possibility to print quotes from the dialogues with the people on the cloth, to make visible small fragments of the communication on the piece itself.
