Pronto Intervento (Emergency): four artistic
projects for the Clinic of the Children Hospital Umberto I in Rome.
From the 21st og June to the 20th of July at Pastificio Cerere
The exhibition “Pronto interevento”
(Emergency) opened on the 21st of June at Pastificio Cerere
Foundation in Rome. The show, curated by Lorenzo Benedetti, presents
works by the four artists (Alessandro Bulgini, Stanislao di Giugno,
Marina Paris, Corrado Sassi) who participated in the contest for the
realization of a permanent installation at the Children Hospital Umberto
I in Rome. The contest was organized by Pastificio Cerere Foundation,
Volume! and Zerynthia, and is part of the project “Les ateliers
d’artistes en résidence à l’h?pital en Europe”,
designed by Art dans the Cité (Paris), for Culture 2000,
a plan of the European Union.
The exhibition “Pronto Intervento” underlines the importance
of art in public spaces, and connects at the same time the functional
aspect of art and the context where art itself grows. For that reason,
next to the projects realized for the pediatric clinic, other works
by the same artists will be on display.
The exhibition is organized in three parts: the first room introduces
the projects realized in six European hospitals (Lubljana, Marseille,
Madrid, Paris and Rome). In the second and third rooms, projects by
those artists who participated in the competition for the pediatric
clinic in Rome.
