San Salvario Mon Amour.
Love Difference presents at Art Bubbles at San Salvario works by Gayle
Chong Kwan, Vered Dror, Victor A. Muñoz. Turin, 2-4 December
San Salvario is a crowded neighbourhood
of Turin with 12,057 inhabitants. Built mainly in the second half
of the 19th century, the area is set within the town centre, the main
train station and Valentino Park. It has always been inhabited by
immigrants: today 21% of the population (2514 persons) are foreigners.
It is the highest percentage in the town, together with Porta Palazzo.
Agenzia per lo Sviluppo Locale di San Salvario, Love Difference and
Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto will take part in Art
Bubbles at San Salvario, in collaboration with BJCEM - Biennale
dei Giovani Artisti dell’Europa e del Mediterraneo, presenting
two projects by Unidee residents.
Gayle Chong Kwan’s work A Mushroom out of its Mycelium
links up people in the area of San Salvario who work with food, through
their senses and in their dreams. Sensory packs will be created through
a process of dialogue between the artist and participants.
Vered Dror and Victor A. Muñoz realised Balcony Tales:
life happens on the balconies of San Salvario; the balcony represents
the situation of the human in general and of the immigrant in particular,
it is an integral part of the house and yet is outside it. A private
space that is in the public space, and is actually in the air.
