Michelangelo Pistoletto and Filippo
Fabbrica receive Evens Prize 2005 in Antwerp, awarded to Love Difference
As we mentioned in LDN 23, Love Difference
won the second prize at “Europe and Courage 2005”, awarded
by Evens Foundation for projects of intercultural education.
The jury accorded the prize to Love Difference for its creative and
interdisciplinary approach to enable a responsible change towards
civil society and the promotion of intercultural dialogue as well
as for their intercultural networking.
Leaving for Antwerp, where Saturday 22 October the award ceremony
will take place, Michelangelo Pistoletto (President of Love Difference)
and Filippo Fabbrica (LD Project Manager) gave LDN two short declarations
on the importance of this prize for the future plans of the association:
"This award gives confidence to a young movement that puts in
relation single individuals and institutions of the Mediterranean
area, interested in creating new perspectives, that carry beyond the
tragic conflict involving different cultures, and that are able to
offer to the society a new model of cultural integration" (Michelangelo
Pistoletto).
"This prize for intercultural education rewards the first projects
carried out by Love Difference, thanks to the collaboration and the
engagement of the associates. The award gives much confidence to us
and it makes us to believe firmly that we are completing important
steps ahead towards the responsible transformation of the society.
The money from the prize will be spent in developing Love Difference’s
future projects, together with members and those who believe that
it is possible to create a new model of cultural integration "
(Filippo Fabbrica).
