Man overboard! Land in sight! Love Difference in Venice for the musical demonstration dedicated to sea-folk
A musical demonstration, by rowing boat and by land, promoted by the association Stella Maris' Friends in the occasion of the World Maritime Day 2005, will run across Venice on Saturday 24 September. An art event aiming to make the public aware of the social issue of the marine workers, inserted in the plan "Open the walls"/Urban Italy by the City of Venice.
A heterogeneous group of persons - representatives of the Panamanian, Philippine and Nigerian communities, musicians, writers, artists, dancers, former marine and representatives of the marine field and public authorities, cultural associations of voluntary service, and everybody willing to participate - will leave from Piazzale Roma (Campazzo dei Tre Ponti) across the sestieri of Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, San Marco and the island of Giudecca.
In head of the procession, the flag People of the Seas, designed by Michelangelo Pistoletto & Cittadellarte. On the island of Giudecca will take place the performance by Love Difference on the topic of the "flags of convenience" and the radio broadcasting “AltoMare”..
