Six Love Difference tables as table for cultures: in Modena from September 16 the exhibition “Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte
“Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte. The table of the cultures ", curated by Angela Vettese will open on Friday September 16 at Palazzina dei Giardini in Modena. Organised by the City Gallery, the event is part of Festivalfilosofia; this year the Philosophy Festival is dedicated to the theme of ‘the sense’. Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte in collaboration with Love Difference will display at Palazzina dei Giardini six big tables with the shapes of the mediterranean (surrounded by the land) seas, in which the concept of Mediterranean is joined to that of table, and both are placed as place of exchange, negotiation and dialogue. The tables will stand as metaphors of increasing tolerance and sense of unity: the same thought which is currently building Europe and other basins of common understanding in spite of religious, linguistic and political differences.
On display, objects manufactured by Cittadellarte’s Art Office, the place producing ideas and forms which are Cittadellarte’s primary energy, weaving internal and external relations.
Michelangelo Pistoletto will also give a conference, organised as part of Festivalfilosofia, while in the day of the opening the artist will be at the public’s disposal for debate, together with his assistants from Cittadellarte and philosophers featuring at the Festival.
A publication by Angela Vettese will be released in November.
Opening to the public on September 16, 10 a.m.; cocktail with the artist at 12. Official opening at 4:30 p.m.
The exhibition will close on January 8, 2006.
