”Lost in Translation - Art and Inter-culture” is a competition for young artists and cultural institutions on the relationship between cultures, promoted by Connecting Cultures and Fondazione Ismu - Education – Heritage and Interculture. Aims of the competition are to highlight the creativity and talent of young artists: to encourage collaboration between artists and cultural institutions in developing projects that promote dialogue between cultures in specific urban contexts or communities; to promote the use of artistic languages and creativity in solving practical problems related to the area through the participation of citizens, communities and institutions; to stimulate citizens and cultural institutions to promote and support creative projects in order to foster social and cultural integration.
The competition is open to young artists (video makers, designers, film-makers, performers, photographers) under the age of 35 years, operating in Italy, in collaboration with a cultural institution (and possibly other entities such as local authorities, civil associations, etc..). Participation is open to institutions on the whole national territory.
Prerequisite for participation in this competition is that the project is designed for a specific area or cultural context, and provides a lively involvement of communities and citizens as the main target of the work. The contest will award a prize of 5,000 Euros, aimed at the realization (in whole or in part) of the selected project.
