Education and Co-operation in the
Balkans: a conference in Trieste, a Master Course in Portogruaro
On Monday, the 21st of March, the international
seminar “Divided cities. Citizenship in the Balkans, between
nationalism and cosmopolitanism” was hosted by the Centro Congressi
Stazione Marittima in Trieste (Italy). The meeting dealt with major
issues for the Balkan cities, which have been divided in the past
for the well known historical events, and now become meeting places
and starting points for the economical and social raising of the area.
Scholars, journalists and representatives from associations dealing
with the Balkan area took part in the conference. The seminar was
organised by the University of Trieste, in collaboration with Osservatorio
Nomade, within the program of the 3rd edition of the International
Master Course “Planning and Management of Co-operation and Training
Activities for Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans”.
The Master Course is run jointly by the University of Trieste, the
University of Padua, and the International Institute Jacques Maritain,
and is hosted by the University Campus in Portogruaro (Venice).
