Water Collection – by Walid Maw’ed and Sara Conforti – at banale concept store in Biella, until April 30th
Walid Maw'ed (fashion designer/artist, Palestine), Sara Conforti (fashion designer, manager of special events at Cittadellarte, Italy) and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, presented the Water Collection on Tuesday the 22nd of March at the banale concept store (Biella) on “World Water Day”. The Water Collection is the second stage of Waiting for Water, a project by Walid Maw’ed and Cittadellarte
The Water Collection is the second phase of the Waiting for water project, conceived by Walid Maw'ed together with Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto (supported by the Qattan Foundation, Palestine, and Lanificio Guabello, Biella). It is a project that takes on the problems linked with water, a need that so often becomes a motive for conflict and a resource whose control is becoming a determining factor on the geopolitical scene.
Main aim of the Water Collection is to convey the message of the Waiting for Water project. The collection, minimal in terms of lines but rich in original ideas, is based on the concept of “transformation” because it is realised using the same black cloth (cotton/wool/cashmere) used for the installation of the Cervo river, and because it leaves free interpretation of the items themselves to the person wearing them. The collection will be on sale at banale concept store until April 30.
